ELECTED leaders drawn from lower Eastern have now declared that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is the only leader with authority to sit at the national negotiation table declared lower leaders
“We the elected leader from lower eastern region unanimously and without undue regards to our party affiliations, fully and unreservedly support Kalonzo Musyoka in his wise decision to formalize a working relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta Jubilee party of Kenya (JPK)
Addressing the press in Machakos, the leaders said the Signing of Cooperation Agreement between JPK and the Wiper Democratic Movement lays a firm foundation upon which build a strong unity of purpose between members of the two political persuasions, and their affiliates, beginning with their solid base in the Mt.Kenya and lower eastern region and beyond.
The statement was read by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua who said the agreement is calculated to set for an all-inclusive exercise by like- minded Kenyans across the country and transcending political party affiliation to weave together an indivisible one Kenya movement to decisively address the challenge of our time and lay a firm foundation for national stability.
“In our region, the signing of the cooperation agreement is a loud and clear call to focus our leadership and our people in the right direction” he said
Wambua said it is call a duty for all leaders to push for cessation of reckless political assassination.
Said Wambua, we call to order those behind the insult and encourage our people to refuse to be used to insult leader by a small clique of political brokers for personal selfish gain.
He said Kamba people are known and respected for their humility and love for peace.
“Those with divergent views and those who are aggrieved by the direction given by our leader and at liberty to table their issues for discussion through mature and respectful channel. We can’t afford to send the wrong impression that our community is divided.” He said
The deal between the two parties was penned at Jubilee Party Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi, after which leaders drawn from the two parties held a joint press conference.
In the attendance were Wiper Party leaders Kalonzo Musyoka Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr, former MP Chirau Mwakwere and Judith Sijeny.
From the Jubilee side were Secretary-General Raphael Tuju and Vice-Chairman David Murathe. The group was also joined by Chama Cha Mashinani leader and former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto who has lately been dallying of Jubilee.
The Wiper boss rubbished rumours that he was preparing to join the government as a new Cabinet Secretary saying that he is in the Wiper steering wheel to stay.
“If I was to join Cabinet, would you expect that I would relinquish my position as a party leader to years to the election?” he posed.
Mr Murathe praised the deal as a landmark decision that will help both parties in and outside parliament.
The Lower Eastern leaders thanked the government of President Kenyatta for initiating many road project in our region including the Sultan Hamud, Kasikeu, Mumila road among others projects.
They appealed to the President and Kalonzo Musyoka to make arrangements to commission the Kibwezi-Kitui-Migwani road and launch the construction of the Kandawai-Gatunga- Maua- Isiolo road.
“As the duly elected leader representing all shades of opinion from the lower eastern region, we want to firmly and unequivocally restate that Kalonzo Musyoka is the only leader with authority to sit at the national negotiation table with President Uhuru to negotiate for the interests of our community.
They called upon the clerk, the business community, profession and political from all corners of the region to rally behind Kalonzo Musyoka, and support him to push forward the development and political agenda of the community.
“And for the avoidance of doubt, our leader is not looking for government job” said Makueni Women Rep Rose Museo.
Museo said the Wiper leader is keen and resolute about leading this county alongside other likeminded leader.
“In this regard, we have endorsed Musyoka with the support of other Kenyans leaders and communities, to run for the presidency in2022” she added
Said Mueo, we are not ignorant of divergent view in our region which are unfortunately being expressed through insults and character hostilities and instead refocus our energies to sensitize and mobilize our people to appreciate and embrace the dividends that come with the agreement”.
Kathiani MP Robert Mbui said the Kamba community can’t wait any longer for the completion of stalled development projects.
“Our people can’t wait any longer to be ably represented at the national table where important decision on the destiny of our nation being made” said Mbui
Mbui said that the signing of the agreement opens a window for the fast tracking of several important national vision 2030 flagship project in the region.

The Konza City
The Thwake Dam Project which is at 35 per cent completion.
The water pipeline from Thwake Dam To Konza City is priority phase which would create the necessary synergy between the two grand project with attendant opportunities for business and employment.
Unlocking the gridlock in the construction of the high grand falls dam on river tan at the border of Kitui and Tharaka Nithi Counties. This is billed as the second largest multipurpose dam in Africa and will mitigate the perennial flooding crisis and open opportunities for mass irrigation schemes in Kitui ,Tharaka Nithi, Garissa And Tana River Counties.
Completion of the grand highways including the Kibwezi-Kitui-Migwani road and the Kandwia- Gatunga Maua- Isiolo road
