Matungulu parliamentary hopeful, Philip Munyao has demanded immediate action against police officers implicated in the death of 36-year old Muli Nduva.

Speaking at Tala on Saturday during the burial ceremony, Dr Philip said the wheels of justice must roll and bring those culpable to book.

“Those behind the brutal murder must be probed and brought to justice as soon as possible. Never again should innocent lives be taken by individuals who are charged with the responsibility of safeguarding lives and property,” he said.

Dr Philip, who is seeking to unseat the incumbent, Stephen Mule told mourners that he will bring the much desired change to improve the lives of Matungulu residents.

Hundreds of mourners thronged the burial venue where various speakers called out the local security officers for their alleged involvement in the death of Muli.

Area MP Stephen Mule Tala Ward MCA Alex Kamitu and his Matungulu East counterpart, Cosmus Ngula also addressed the mourners.

A postmortem report conducted last week on the body of the deceased showed he succumbed to injuries inflicted on his head. Police had earlier claimed Muli ingested acid, a theory which was dismissed by family members.
